A little bit about me...
I have an uncommon knack for supporting people to dive right into their darkness and meet the grief or trauma that has felt impossible to heal. I notice that once fear is addressed and pain is felt, we go a little deeper. Something essential happens: the dark becomes the birthplace of our magnificence. My gifts then, offer the guidance necessary for the initiation to unfold. For this is what our suffering is--an initiation into our lives greatest teachings.
I do this through private sessions, trainings, and retreats focused on trauma, ritual and healing.
I was catapulted onto this path unexpectedly when a stranger murdered my mother in the winter of 1995. My deep desire for freedom led me to venture inwards and outwards to reconcile with my loss and eventually forgive her perpetrator. Through listening deeply to Spirit, I found the tools I needed.
For over 25 years, I have studied spiritual healing and personal growth in the context of animistic traditions such as paganism and shamanism, as well as energy healing and restorative justice. My path led me to the Andes of Peru to work with Indigenous healers, to the Amazon to work with Ayahuasca, into the prairies for ceremony and teachings with the Cree First Nation, to the hills of southern Oregon to study alchemical healing, and even to Washington, D.C., to study strategies for trauma awareness and resilience. From 2007-2019, I taught a variety of healing workshops, trainings, and retreats in Alberta & B.C.- anywhere from a one day event to a two year program - ran my own healing centre, took groups to Peru to work with Indigenous healers, and held a private practice.
I am an apprentice to Spirit. Though I have been trained in numerous traditions, what I teach is not founded in the context of lineage or tradition. It is my guidance that to be in right relationship with the issues of cultural misappropriation, it is important for people to learn to have their own self-revelatory experiences and create their own ceremonies from their inner guidance. The ancestors and helping spirits always show us the way.
My main focus is transforming trauma into medicine and exploring radical reconciliation. In the past 10 years, I have shared my personal healing story at the Edmonton Women’s Prison, Knowing Our Spirits Conference, multiple First Nations Bands and Friendship Centres, Victim Services, churches, women’s circles and conferences. The latter is a real-life conversation with Marilyn Brighteyes, whose brother killed my mother, where we both share our stories of loss and transformation and pose suggestions for embodied reconciliation.
At present, I live with my husband and our last child at home, nestled in the Okanagan in the city of Kelowna.
I would love to support you on your journey. Check out the private sessions page. Add me on Facebook or Whatsapp, and click here to get on my mailing list.
